"Oh Miss Scarlett! I don't know nuthin' 'bout birthin' babies"
This is my first blog! I've been playing around with the idea of a mini-Hogwarts dollhouse and imagine that a blog could help me stay organized. My family and friends have expressed various amounts of enthusiasm for this idea - for example, my sister's main concern is where it will live and my mother's is that I'm far too old for this type of thing. My own concerns are that I'm not terribly handy and can be rather indecisive. Case in point, I've been planning this for a few weeks and have yet to decide on a particular design. Sis said to start with a room box but I know I will want a bunch of rooms so why not jump in and start a whole house? I spotted this castle kit from DHE minis but am reluctant to spend $300 on a kit:
Cumberland Castle, with East Wing
Another option for a design is the castle kit by Sue Ryder pictured below. Two problems though - the design itself looks fairly juvenile and would need work, and more importantly, shipping costs make it difficult get to Canada.
If I hadn't gotten carried away and started buying some 1:12 furniture and accessories then I could have gone for a half scale kit. There's a kit from Bromley Craft and one from Earth and Tree that looked promising:
