Jolley's is coming together, despite some slip ups. If things look a wee bit crooked...well, they are :( I also wasn't paying attention to the instructions and forgot to leave room for the rooftop garden when I was wallpapering! Instead of correcting that, I'm just going to have a higher ceiling without a garden or deck on top. And don't talk to me about the windows...you'll see what I mean when there's a closeup. Since the rooms are deep, I should have attempted some lighting. Maybe in the next one, sigh. I still need to install the door and roof, do some touch-up painting, landscape the front sidewalk, and install the first floor tile. I found some stickers on sale at Michaels for the tile. Then it's onto interior decorating. The two wood floors are parquet printouts found online and the wallpaper is from spoonflower. |
I have made some progress on a few of my projects and have been thinking each week that I should blog something. Unfortunately, I didn't get anything truly finished before the end of 2012. And although, it feels like I'm getting close to finishing some houses, the more I consider the finishing touches required, the further from done they appear. Right now, I'm concentrating on completing the birdcage, Jolley's Emporium, and the Yule Tide. At least the Yule Tide is mostly at the furniture and accessories stage. In the meantime, I packed the Hogwarts roombox away and am attempting to tidy my work table (aka, the dining room table. It's a good thing dinner parties happen only once in a blue moon).

Jolleys is looking great. I know what you mean about finishing touches - I seem to specialize in UFOs, mainly because of those finishing touches :) The Fairfield will, I hope, be the very first project I do from start right through to completion at least as far as construction and decoration goes. Fingers crossed!
