Sorry, for the poor resolution, this was a photo taken with my cell phone once I had removed the front bars. I was trying to decide how much of the bars should be taken off and as you can see, opening only one side still looked very busy and rather prison-like. As usual, I have too many possible plans for this house but I'm leaning towards doing a simplified fairy house with not as much moss and twigs. We'll see... Colleen Moore's dollhouse and/or the Mulberry ad campaign from 2011 are my current inspirations for it.
Below is a picture of it without the bars. My wire cutters weren't strong enough to cut through them so I used pliers to bend them and slide them out of the holes. Most of the tools I have are for beading so I may have to upgrade if I need to work with thicker wire. I'm still debating if I should leave it brown or perhaps paint it a shabby chic white.
